Ramaa is a journalist who works in a multimedia landscape that fuses print, audio, video and photography. She is a graduate of the Columbia School of Journalism.

Her work on travel, immigrants, education, yoga, food, religion, aging, and lifestyles has appeared in: WhoWhatWhy.org, Lena Dunham’s Women of the Hour podcast, BBC, Huffington Post, NPR-The Salt, Women’s eNews, Feet In Two Worlds, Yogacitynyc.com, PRI’s The World, WHYY and YPO’s Ignite magazine.

In 2020, Ramaa began teaching an Indian cooking, blogging and photography class at Williams College, Massachusetts and her student’s blog posts can be found here.

Ramaa’s credits include:

–  Selected to judge the 2021 NY Press Club awards

– Booking and interviewing Gloria Steinem for Young Presidents Organization – a premier leadership organization for chief executives in New York

– Winning the Ippies Best Audio Award presented by the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism

–  Selected to be part of Columbia’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism‘s Innovation Showcase and

– Her photograph about the devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy was featured in the Museum of City of New York’s Rising Waters exhibit and is part of the museum’s permanent collection.

In addition, Ramaa was interviewed about her work and featured on BBC and BRICK TV, an award winning cable and TV and digital network broadcast from Brooklyn.
